Thanks for sharing. You know you remind me of my friend that introduced me to Bruce Springsteen here in Norway. Huge fan of Bruce. We are of a younger generation (1978) so of course we couldn't have experience Bruce the way you did. But my friend was also a Greenday fan. And kind of like you he was a fan before they were big.
I think he felt a bit snubbed when they got big. It was like "everyone" was listening to his special band. The band that had just been his in a way.
I know that feeling! It’s a sort of jealousy. Sometimes I’ve even felt it towards a friend who particularly enjoyed a band that I introduced them to, which was precisely the reason I did it.
Luckily, that jealous feeling fades, because Bruce, like Tiny Horse on SNL, belongs to the whole world. [Timothee Chalamet on SNL]
Great piece. My first musical love. Anyone who doesn’t understand why he is so beloved would do well to watch, or listen, to his Broadway show, which was, in its way, perfect.
I loved this!

Nice comment! That’s exactly it.
Not only a great musician but a true patriot! 💙🇺🇸
