True enough. I guess what I notice as I get older and theoretically better as a writer (which is probably true) is how much your writing reflects your personality. Which seems obvious I suppose but I notice it more now. Does that make sense?
It does, indeed. Also at our age, I marvel at the way we met the challenges of our profession with such anticipation, resolve and joy. The destination, not our voice, is what mattered most. These days, we are the words, and the words are who we are. Hugs, Johnny.

Loved it ! I think I developed a conversational style when my sister asked me to write blurbs on famous businessmen for her book. I was a ' woe is me ' poet at the time and by changing my approach to appeal to the reader ( high school kids ), it came out with a little effort on my part. But I agree that writing should be fun and I have always
had a good time writing ✍️ I always wanted to be a John Lennon-Paul McCartney- George Harrison kind of writer and Substack has given me the chance!
It was obnoxious of me to say it, but in my defense only because you are that good of a writer it seemed a promotion of the technology. Which I see as dangerous. But I’m older than you and that could likely be why.
