If you have a minute, check out the video. Encyclopedia Brittanica did a film for Bartleby, too. Not sure if you’re still teaching but I had a hellacious Bartleby assignment. It’s such an odd yet popular story, I found all these different sources so I assigned a different one to each kid - and it was supposed to be secret! It was fabulous. I wrote a Substack about it. The day they presented just - sheer luck - the day the Principal came for her observation.
