Thank you for sharing your article, “Want Still More Bob Dylan?” Your exploration of the possibility of a second volume of Chronicles is intriguing, especially considering Dylan's recent activities and the evolving landscape of music and media. It's exciting to think about what new insights and stories he might share in a potential follow-up.
The Philosophy of Song thing was pretty batsh*t crazy, usually had little to do with the actual songs, but it was fascinating as glimpses into Dylan's mind. I must have been one of the very few who didn't particularly like Chronicles 1. I was hoping for Woody Guthrie meets Jack Kerouac meets Hunter Thompson, a bit of Tarantula thrown in, but no, it was a fairly ordinary romp through parts of the past. And didn't make much sense, with the time gaps and all. I suppose it was just what he handed over to the publisher and they put it out. He did offer a lot of laudatory stuff about the musicians he was there with early on, and that was a nice gesture. We'll see what this new one is like.
